When Only the Very Best Will Do
In April of 1994, our company started as Confidential Background Investigations, which provided background services to employers of Salt Lake City, Utah and surrounding areas. In August of 1995, we partnered with the Salt Lake City Corporation and started our first physical security service at the city and county building in downtown Salt Lake City. The relationship has developed over the past 20 years to include 5 additional locations, making CBI the largest security contractor for the city of Salt Lake. In the fall of 1998, we started providing patrol services for Salt Lake City Parks and from there CBI's patrol division was born. Today, we have the largest patrol service in the State of Utah, and we've expanded our services into Arizona and Idaho.
Court Services
In April 2003, CBI partnered with constable services to form Court Transportation and Bailiffs Service. The new company offers sworn deputy constables which provide prisoner transports, bailiff services, and physical security for all visitors and employees at the municipal court.
Operations in Arizona, Utah, and Idaho
In 2006, CBI opened operations in Phoenix, Arizona. Expansion in 2017 opened up another location in Boise, Idaho. Together with the Salt Lake base, these two locations form the basis of the company as it operates today.
