EMT Services

An officer trains to be an EMT

CBI Security EMT Services

We understand that sometimes ensuring the safety of each client at their site or event goes beyond having just security personnel. No matter the circumstances, events can transpire where people end up hurt, in harm’s way, and in need of immediate medical assistance. It is exactly because of these potential situations that we at CBI Security Services are able to provide our clients with certified EMT’s. Our medically trained staff can help our clients keep their personnel safe, and can even prevent costly lawsuits.

The Mission of an EMT

Certified EMT’s have several purposes. First and foremost, our staff must be able to perform the most basic principles of first aid and life support. They are trained to provide emergency medical support to any person who is injured or critically ill. This medical support ranges from:

  • Performing CPR
  • Bandaging wounds
  • Stabilizing head and neck injuries
  • Stabilizing broken bones
  • Providing oxygen
  • Administering certain medications
  • Resuscitating drowned victims

A majority of our EMTs have been certified through EMT Utah, whose program standards meet and exceed the EMS Educational Standards approved by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. Due to this training, even if an emergency medical situation were to never arise, our staff will be able to quickly respond to:

  • Heart attacks
  • Strokes
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Labor / Delivery
  • Hypothermia
  • Complications from diabetes

Whatever the support may be, their overall goal is to preserve life, prevent further injury, and promote recovery. Our EMT’s are also dedicated to upholding the utmost principles of the “star of life mantra” throughout their practice which involves:

  • Early detection
  • Early reporting
  • Early response
  • Field care / on-site care
  • Care in transit
  • Transference to definitive care

Dual Purpose Officers

CBI Security’s medical services are unique. Twenty percent of our officers are certified EMTs who are not only trained to be effective in emergency services, but are also trained to be capable security officers. Our company is one of few that provides service, allowing our medical service personnel to function in a dual role of EMT and Security Officer. Each of our dual-purpose officers can determine the nature and extent of the illness or injury, the magnitude of the catastrophe, and determine the first aid procedures that need to be followed.

Ensuring Safety For All

When it comes to providing safety and mitigating the headaches that can arise at a site or an event, there is no better solution than entrusting a Dual Officer. If a situation arises, however, that is beyond the capabilities of what our certified EMT’s are able to accomplish on the scene, they are trained to immediately contact authorities that are. In a severe case, our EMT’s will ensure that the health and protection of the person or persons in distress is the first priority, then arrange transport of the sick or injured to a medical facility, working alongside members of differing emergency medical teams.

The physical and mental requirements of this job are demanding to say the very least. Because of this, we take care to train and hire only those people we know will be able to handle the situations they may be put into. It’s incredibly important that our staff be able to maintain their composure in extremely stressful situations. They must be able to keep a clear head and remain objective to the medical situations at hand.
