Court Services

At CBI Security, we are able to utilize our security program for a wide variety of different industries that have their own specific needs. One major example of this is the services we are able to provide for the court system in Utah. In 2003, CBI partnered up with Utah’s constable services to create the Court Transportation and Bailiff’s Service. This entity enables CBI to use our professional skill set to better serve the legal system of our state.

Deputy constables

Our court services company is able to offer sworn deputy constables. In accordance with state law, all of our constables are appointed by the municipalities where they serve. These appointment grants them the powers of other peace officers. Because of this, each of our deputy constables are certified through the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) that Utah requires. However, our deputy constables are not legally tasked with the same duties as other law enforcement officials. Due to the nature of their responsibility, most of our officers entrusted to be deputy constables have backgrounds in criminal justice, or a similar field.

Prisoner transports

Our deputy constables are empowered to carry out a variety of tasks, in the name of the justice of the peace court of whichever precinct they are serving within. One such responsibility is to provide prisoner transports, whether between different holding facilities or to take a prisoner to court. Our officers are trained to stress the details on jobs like this, and are trained to ensure that all transportations follow a strict schedule, while still sticking to safety protocols and procedures.

Bailiff services

A bailiff is an officer of the law that is in charge of maintaining the peace during courtroom sessions. The responsibilities of a bailiff are to ensure that order remains in the court and that the flow of different witnesses, defendants, and legal teams are smoothly moved throughout the course of a proceeding. Our officers are well trained in courtroom etiquette, and are given strict protocols that they are qualified to follow.

Municipal court security

CBI Security offers enhanced security services for city courts and legal proceedings within different municipalities in Utah. Our security is well trained to protect both employees and visitors of the court.
