24 Jan The Benefits of Corporate Security
No Thank You, Mr. Grüber
With the holidays fast approaching, our thoughts turn to those Christmas classics that brought the whole family together around the television. One such film is Die Hard, the action masterpiece about an Everyman trying to beat the bad guys and save Christmas…so to speak. Looking at that movie through the lens of corporate security, one can get a sense just how important these security services can be.
Almost from the outset, Die Hard sets the stage with all the systems — both physical and digital — that will eventually be exploited by the movie’s band of educated thief-terrorists. Only one patrolling guard on the main floor makes a lackadaisical search of the grounds, while another sits at the reception desk, letting in anyone without so much as an ID check. The security room which houses the master controls for the entire building is right next to the entrance, unguarded. Inside, the computer isn’t password-protected at all.
It is no wonder that the bad guys could so easily take over the entire building, eventually leading to hostages and an exploding helicopter on the rooftop. For an action movie, this is all great stuff; for those who work for security companies like CBI, this is migraine-inducing.
Corporate Security Done Right
Die Hard is, of course, an action fantasy — nothing more than some harmless popcorn escapism — but it does illustrate that there is a right way and a wrong way to carry out corporate security. At CBI Security, we take the protection of your business and its assets very seriously. Those assets will include:
- Your building and other physical possessions
- Your staff
- Your digital possessions, such as data and other sensitive information
We’ve written before about the lengths that digital thieves will go to put your business under the thumb of ransomware, and what we’re prepared to do to protect you from that; digital security is certainly one of the most important arms of our corporate protection. CBI Security is ready with many different ways to ensure that your business is kept safe from all sorts of threats.
Threat Assessment
It all starts with an in-depth analysis of your current security setup. Here, we will determine risk factors and solutions by looking at:
- Holes in your surveillance
- Dangers in your immediate geographic vicinity
- The history of targeted crime against other companies in your market
- Lapses in your emergency protocols
Once we have a three-dimensional view of your security, we can begin beefing up weak areas until your entire corporate security structure is guarded against attacks of any kind.
Security Training
Whether you decide to hire a professional team like CBI for the long haul, just for a short while, or only for the initial security assessment, we can all agree that your security will be stronger if everyone in the corporation is trained for emergencies. This doesn’t mean that we will send all your accountants to SWAT boot camp, but it does mean that everyone should know what a breach in security looks like and how to handle it safely.
Personnel training is one of CBI’s most requested security services. Using our extensive skills and experience, we will teach your employees:
- The latest safety protocols
- How to recognize threats
- Protection and first aid procedures
With CBI Security heading up your corporate security, you won’t have to worry about whether or not you have a Jon McClain somewhere in your ranks; Hans Grüber and his cronies will have a hard time even getting inside the building.
