Classroom Training

Adults learning in a small classroomAlthough we believe that the best training is going to happen on the field when students can witness real-world application of security techniques, we also believe that strong classroom training is important to build a foundation of knowledge to apply to real situations. For this reason, one major part of our training program at CBI Security is to give each of our personnel a course of classroom learning to prepare them for the field.

Interactive instruction

The classroom learning environments that we strive to create are designed to appeal to multiple types of learners. One way that we do this is by utilizing interactive videos that help our personnel in training understand a variety of different situations that they experience in the field. It is much easier to recognize a situation that you have seen in a video, rather than just having someone tell you about it. On top of that, the interactive aspects of our videos keeps learners engaged with the content.

Workbook learning and field experience

When it comes to teaching our officers about different aspects of the job, it is important to strike a balance between real-world learning experiences and textbook, standard classroom learning. Our workbooks are built to stretch the situational understanding of our personnel and allow them to think about different factors of the job in a theoretical setting, which helps them be prepared for the day that understanding protocols will be expected of them.

Small group classrooms

We don’t just put all of our trainees into a big room and try to force feed them information. In order to make sure that our training program is efficient and creating a standard of excellence in all of our personnel, we keep all of our classes rather small. The small class sizes allow our instructors to get more individual time with each trainee, which leads to better training and education.

Rigorous testing

At the end of the class, each of our trainees will be rigorously tested to ensure that they are fully prepared to handle encounters that they will find in the field. These tests cover an officer’s situational awareness of how each possible scenario should be handled, along with safety procedures and protocols that we expect from all of our personnel.
